Joep Drummen,
a painter of eighty ...
This was the heading of an article in a local paper about Joep Drummen, a brother FIC, who is still a very talented artist!
Next to painting Joep also likes wood-carving and a number of other forms of creativity. His production is very impressive!
Pictures of more than 1000 of his pieces of art are collected in his albums. Many of them have been shown at exhibitions. The money he earns is for benificial purposes.
Joep, a proud citizen of Nijmegen, since 1970 lives in Dukenburg, a part of Nijmegen.
He is a teacher by profession. As from 1982 he is pensioned after 40 years of work in different schools. Every day he spends two hours at his painting easel. Thanks to his many talents, his experience and his persevering work, he has made a great performance.
His portaits, sceneries and still lifes, all look rather impressionistic. On the other hand he also experiments with other styles of painting.
To his well known great works belong the beautifully painted Stations of the Cross in the Ontmoetings-church in Dukenburg.
From his many works we show here a small "Galery":
