 ARRIVAL FOR OASIS

March1, 2010:  Today the Oasis stage of the Spiritual Journey will begin in a small town called Wahlwiller. All the participants have arrived in the Netherlands and will be driven to the centre in WAHLWILLER. There were quite some interesting experiences when some participants arrived at the Schiphol airport. The Indonesian delegation arrived almost at the same time as the Malawians but both groups were held up by immigration for close to two hours and it took some intervention to secure their release. It seems the airport authorities were a bit alarmed to see so many young people arriving in the country for a purpose that was not very clear.

The Ghana delegation was however lucky. On arrival they went through immigration without any problems. Their luck could be attributed to the fact that the immigration authorities were already alerted about their arrival to save them the trouble that the other groups went through.

All participants from Indonesia, Ghana and Malawi were based in the Beyart. On Saturday the Indonesian delegation visited DenHaag in the company of Bros Guido and Martinus and the Ghana and Malawi delegations also visited the Good'je where they were treated to a good meal.

So far everything seems to be going as expected with no incidents. Some Ghanaian brothers have complained that the weather is still cold for them, but in our opinion the temperatures have risen from a low of zero degrees to twelve degrees just to welcome them. We cannot promise very good weather for the rest of the days but we can always arm ourselves for any eventuality even if it means using our blankets to sew trousers for the Ghanaian brothers.

All things being equal, we expect an excellent workshop in the coming days.

Below you will find a few pictures of our brothers from Ghana and Malawi when they visited the General Council community.
