Decease of dear late Bro. Henk Munnich (Late Post)

Dear Brothers,

It is our sad duty to inform you about the passing away of Bro. Henk Munnich, who died on May 16, 2023.

The mourning card reads as follows:

Hendricus Ignatius Jacques

He was born on October 30, 1938 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

He took his vows on August 15, 1960 at De Beyart in Maastricht.

In 1995, he was appointed Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau.

He died on 16 May 2023 in Alkmaar.

Henk was sent by the Congregation to present-day Malawi at an early age. His government had great confidence in him and he has never betrayed this trust throughout his life. He was the founder of the Montfort Press. The Dutch government appointed him consul in 1981, a position he held with great verve.

Henk was a very sociable man: subservient, helpful and respectful of his fellow humans. From this attitude to life, he established a foundation for street children in Malawi.

After his return to the Netherlands in 2006, he kept supporting many people close to him and he was a loyal family member.

We say farewell to Henk in the eucharistic celebration on Tuesday 23 May at 11.00 am in the Dionysius church, Middenweg 248 in Heerhugowaard. He is then laid to rest at the parish cemetery by family, brothers and associates.
