THE CENTRAL ARCHIVE
at MAASTRICHT

The archive of the Congregation is based at the convent De Beyart, Brusselsestraat 38, 6211 PG Maastricht.
In the archive are stored all the documents from the period of foundation (1840) up to the present.

Naturally here are preserved all the important documents relating to the Congregation as a whole, to the various communities and the individual brothers.
It furthermore contains the documentation concerning various particular subjects, such as the two founders of the Congregation, the various rules of life, the annals of the houses, teaching methods and other publications by brothers, and the like.

In the mid-1960s the Congregation was organisationally divided into separate provinces. From that time each province has its own archive. The current records of the general council are stored in Maastricht.

The archival documents are in Dutch. Since 1994 the general council has been of an international composition. From that year the archive of the general council has been built up in English.

In addition to the written material there is also an extensive photographic archive. Furthermore the archive comprises various objects of a religious, devotional and monastic nature, which, somehow or other, were/are characteristic of the life of the brothers.

In a 'history room' a number of these objects are exhibited.
